LEADERSHIP RESOURCES

Vineyard Missions is seeking to address the critical need for leadership that is mature, cross-culturally intelligent and committed to the Kingdom with the goal of enabling and equipping them to develop missional leaders themselves.

This effort is evidence of how far Vineyard Missions has come in the years since international work was first begun. We are excited by the growth and expansion in terms of numbers of Vineyard church plants throughout the world, but recognize that we need to invest significant effort and resources in strengthening and deepening what already exists, and we believe that a key strategy for doing so is by developing leaders.

John Wimber identified 7 key values for leadership:

1. Spiritual leaders are lovers of God
2. Leaders must be saturated in the Word of God – Not only must leaders have a high view of Scripture, giving it positional or doctrinal authority, they  must also allow Scripture to have functional authority in their daily lives.
3. Leaders are called to a life of service and self-sacrifice.
4. Leaders must be full of the Spirit, good character, wisdom and faith.
5. Wise leaders are accountable, able to accept reproof, and willing to repent.
6. Leaders who are true shepherds have a God-given love for people.
7. Good leaders are humble team players

It is these same underlying values, but contextualized and made effective in diverse cultural settings. that Vineyard Missions is focusing upon. As always we are determined to avoid bureaucracy while attempting to ensure care, connection, and accountability among missional leaders.
